    • Alternate Care Site: site support w/ bed availability
    • State Medical Support Shelters: 80-bed
    • Responder Rehabilitation: 4-bed
  • Deployable within 6 hours regionally and 12-24 hours within NC during intrastate assistance

SMAT ACTIVATION

  • Deployed by North Carolina of Office of EMS (ESF-8 lead) or locally by UNC Hospitals
  • Deployment orders issued by North Carolina Office of EMS through North Carolina Emergency Management or nationally through an EMAC Agreement
  • Teams can participate in pre-planned events w/o an activation of the SMRS
